Change

To be alive means being in a constant state of change. We breath in and out. Our blood is always moving. We are digesting and metabolizing. The earth is always turning and revolving around the sun. Even though this is the observable way of the natural world, of which we are part, something is us sometimes wants to freeze things where they are and stop them from changing.

Whether we resist it or not, we all go through changes on many different scales at many different rates. Some change is abrupt and some is gradual. Some feels wonderful and some does not. I have found that recognizing that something is in the process of changing helps me to ease the discomfort and fears that can arise. Like a river flowing around a bend, you are changing course without being able to see where you are going to end up. But you will make it around that bend. The rhythms in life gradually bring tumult and tension to a state of calm and peace.

One of my favorite summertime experiences is watching the slow transformation of a summer sunset

And here are the current changes for this Craniosacral Therapy practice for the summer of 2025

The schedule will be dramatically reduced to 2 days a month and only at Deep Roots. Bruce will be in Keene for the 4th Friday and Saturday of the month.

In July it will be the 25th and 26th.

In August it will be the 22nd and 23rd.

In September it will be the 26th and 27th.

In October it will be the 24th and 25th…etc.

The pricing will change as well. 60 minute sessions will be $100 for members and $125 for non-members.

A movement exercise to explore your relationship with change

This is based on the Spacial Dynamics® exercise “The Sun Sphere”

  1. Gather the space in front of you between your two hands, like you are holding a ball near the edge of your personal space.

  2. Allow the size of the sphere to subtly pulse as you relax into the the rhythms of your body.

  3. As the sphere expands, invert your hands so they are on the inside wall of the sphere and follow the expansion out.

  4. Allow your hands and arms to flow out and around so they sculpt the shape of a lemniscate (a figure 8) until your hands return to their gathering position, like they began.

  5. Repeat 5-10 times as you listen inwardly and experience the movement. How does it inform your feelings and your awareness of yourself and the world around you?
