Inner Light

I am sitting by my big window that looks over the Winooski river and it is dark out, already. In my movement studies at the Spacial Dynamics Institute we learned about counter movements, something that accompanies every movement. Like how when you reach out your arm through the sleeve of your winter coat, the coat moves toward you and keeps you warm. Sound needs silence. Light needs darkness. When we give, we receive. If we listen and attune ourselves these nuances, we can perceive them more and more.

As the world outside becomes darker and darker, perhaps our inner light grows brighter. I love the fact that when I write “inner light,” I can’t know quite what that means for you or anyone else. This is an invitation to consider what it does mean to you. And what do you want to do with it? How do you want your inner light to be perceived by the people around you?

Inner light heart

You are a being of light. Thank you for shining in this, our world.
